Ulysses is the modern-day protagonist of the Lydian Stone narrative. A researcher in Team A (led by Lucia) at the Pompeii excavation site, he discovered a temporal bridge to the year 79 AD. He is defined by his intense imposter syndrome, his reliance on medication for anxiety, and his willingness to commit academic fraud to protect his connection to the past.
Biography #
Born in the early 21st century, Ulysses was a student intern who spent weeks cataloging rocks before discovering a hidden study containing the Lydian Stone. His promotion to Researcher—attained alongside Lucia's promotion to Field Engineer—was based on the "breakthrough" discoveries he made using coordinates provided by Marcus from the past. Throughout 2025 and 2026, he moved from being a detached "simulation player" to a deeply involved architect of Roman history, eventually providing the formula for gunpowder to influence a war two millennia dead.
